The hosts dominated possession but struggled to break down Albion's compact shape. «And here's the thing» — the opening exchanges saw Racing create more territory but Albion kept their defensive lines tight. What stood out was the second-half substitution pattern. Racing brought on Vera and Gonzalez in the 68th minute, then Gadea in the 78th. Albion responded with Lopez and Ginella shortly after the goal. «By then» the match had settled into a rhythm where Racing controlled the tempo and Albion simply tried to survive.
