Ružomberok and Opava shared the spoils in a Club Friendly on Thursday, finishing 1-1 after a match where neither side could extract a winner. The fixture came as part of the pre-season preparation window, with both clubs looking to build rhythm ahead of the competitive campaign.
The opening half saw Ružomberok make two changes at the interval, bringing on J. Ciupa and F. Stepanek together at the 46th minute, perhaps to shake things up before the second period began. By then the home side had worked a short corner to create the chance.
Ružomberok took the lead when O. Lehoczki found the net at 60 minutes, and by then the home side had worked a short corner to create the chance. They looked like they might hold on, keeping their side in it through the middle third.
Opava fought back though, and the away end never stopped pushing for an equaliser. They found a way back into it at 89 minutes, grinding out a point after the home side had seemed set for victory.
Ružomberok arrived with mixed recent form - a 2-0 win over Poprad and a 1-1 draw with Trnava, but also a heavy 2-0 defeat to Košice. Opava had been inconsistent too, with a 2-1 win over Arsenal Česká Lípa followed by a 2-2 draw with Hanáčka.
The draw keeps both sides level on points, though neither side can claim they dominated. Ružomberok will take the point, but Opava earned something valuable away from home.
