Košice secured a 2:0 victory over Ružomberok on Saturday evening at the Košice Football Arena, moving them further clear of the relegation zone in the Superliga's regular season. The hosts dominated possession with 59 per cent but relied on two decisive moments rather than territorial superiority alone. Ružomberok arrived in ninth-place form but could not recover after losing S. Lavrincik to a red card in the sixty-eighth minute.
The opening goal arrived in the seventy-fifth minute when A. Kahvic finished a well-worked chance, and here's the thing — the hosts had created two big chances but failed to capitalise earlier. Ružomberok were already down to ten men by then, having lost their defender to the referee's second yellow in the sixty-eighth.
