Suwon beat Gimhae 2:0 at home in the K-League 2 regular season, round 23. The result came on 22 August 2026 and kept the hosts in second place while the visitors remained rooted to the bottom half. Matheus Frizzo opened the scoring just before the break, and Ha Jung-woo sealed the win after the hour mark.
Frizzo found the net in the 44th minute, his shot finding the back of the net after a period of pressure from the home side. By then Suwon had already claimed 49 per cent of possession, though Gimhae were the ones moving the ball more. The visitors saw their share of chances but could not convert, and the half ended with the hosts ahead.
The second half saw more movement between the lines, and several substitutions came in quick succession. Kim Do-Yoon and Park Jae-Hyun were brought on for Gimhae in the 46th minute, while Sung Ho-Yeung and B. Mikeltadze replaced two Suwon players in the 63rd. Ha Jung-woo made the difference in the 83rd minute, finishing off a move that had been building for some time.
Statistically the match told a familiar story. Suwon had 96 attacks to Gimhae's 100, but the visitors could not turn those moves into goals. The home side registered four shots on target and four off target, while Gimhae managed three on target from six attempts. Possession sat at 49 per cent for Suwon and 51 per cent for the visitors, but the extra passes did not equal extra chances.
