FA 2000 secured a narrow 1:0 win over Thisted in the Second Division Group 1 on Saturday. The result came in the second round of the regular season at Thisted's ground. The visitors took all three points from a match where chances were scarce.
The decisive moment arrived in the fifty-first minute when FA 2000 found the net. By then both sides had tested each other but neither could break through. And here's the thing — such late goals often separate teams who have shared the same amount of territory.
Thisted remain rooted at the bottom with just one point from six outings. They have yet to taste victory this season despite a few promising results against stronger opposition. FA 2000 sit in tenth place with five points and one win to their name.
The away side arrived with mixed form, having beaten Fremad Amager 1:0 but also losing 1:3 to B 93. Thisted meanwhile showed flashes with a 9:1 victory but also suffered a 6:0 hammering against Silkeborg. To be fair, both sides have been inconsistent in equal measure.
The result keeps FA 2000 above the drop zone while Thisted face mounting pressure. Four points separate the two sides in the table, and that gap could widen if form does not improve. The visitors will take confidence from keeping a clean sheet away from home.
