Second League clash delivers narrow away victory
Lokomotiv G. Oryahovitsa took all three points at Yantra 2019 on Sunday, winning 1-0 in the Regular Season round ten. The result moves the visitors up the table while the hosts remain in fourth place, though their position feels less comfortable now.
Yantra dominated possession and created more attacks, but the breakthrough came in the 61st minute when Lokomotiv scored. Before that, there was a yellow card for the home side in the 43rd minute, and another booking for the visitors shortly after in the 65th. The match was decided by that single moment — Yantra had the ball more but couldn't find a way through.
The statistics tell the story of a one-sided possession game. Yantra held 53 per cent of the ball and registered 128 attacks compared to 99 for Lokomotiv. Yet the visitors were more clinical, landing four shots on target to Yantra's one. Both sides received one yellow card each, and there were no dismissals.
What the result means in the table is worth noting. Yantra sit fourth with 16 points from nine games — five wins, one draw, three defeats. Lokomotiv move to twelfth with 12 points, also from nine matches but with three wins and three draws. The gap between them has barely moved, but the momentum shifted.
Yantra's recent form had looked promising. They beat Marek 3-0 and Pirin 2-0 before losing 2-0 to Rilski Sportist last week. Lokomotiv had been steadier, drawing with Nesebar and Sportist Svoge, but also losing heavily to Montana 3-0. Neither side arrived with much confidence, and Yantra couldn't convert it.
Our forecast called for a home win with 63 per cent confidence. It didn't happen. Yantra controlled the tempo but couldn't break Lokomotiv's defensive shape, and when the chance came, Lokomotiv punished them. The clean-sheet run came to an end for the visitors, but they took what they needed.
