FC Porto thrash Leixões 9-2 to stay top
Tiago Portugal's first-half hat-trick set the tone as Manuel Prata's side stayed unbeaten atop Série Norte with 16 points from six games.
The scoreline read 9-2, but the contest was settled long before the final whistle. Porto led 5-1 at the interval and never let Leixões back into it.
Tiago Portugal did the early damage, scoring a first-half hat-trick before he was substituted. Martim Marques came off the bench to add two more once the result was already beyond doubt. Nuno Santos, Rodrigo Seca, João Lopes and Kevin Ká completed the rout.
Rodrigo Castro and Rodrigo Morgado replied for Leixões, but the goals did little more than dent the margin.
Porto, managed by Manuel Prata, sit top of the Série Norte table on 16 points from six games, still without a loss. Leixões, whose senior side currently sit fifth in Liga Portugal 2 with 10 points from six matches, remain some way off the pace this level of team is used to competing at.
