Arsenal Face Injury Concerns Ahead of Ipswich Clash

Arsenal could be without five players between them and Ipswich Town when the two sides meet at Portman Road on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup third round.

Both go into the tie in form. Mikel Arteta's side kept up their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 win at Sunderland, while Ipswich beat Crystal Palace 3-2 away for their second Premier League victory of the campaign.

Ben White is the main fitness doubt for Arsenal. He started at the Stadium of Light but went off at half-time after wincing in discomfort through the first 45 minutes, and did not appear in training pictures released by the club on Monday. Arteta gave no update on the defender after the win, and Cristhian Mosquera's return date is also unclear.

Arteta is expected to make widespread changes for the cup tie. Eze, signed by Arsenal in September 2025, has scored nine goals for the club since his arrival.

Ipswich have fewer worries. Manager Gary O'Neil said he had been forced to leave out fit players rather than nurse an injury list.

Jack Taylor and Azor Matusiwa, neither of whom has featured this season, remain the only likely absentees for the home side. Jaden Philogene and Florentino, both sidelined recently, returned against Palace at the weekend. Chuba Akpom, back among the substitutes on Saturday after missing the previous match, is set to be involved against the club where he once played; his single senior goal contribution for Arsenal came in the League Cup back in 2016, and Tuesday would be his first appearance against his old side.

If Ben White is ruled out, Arteta's options at centre-back will narrow further with Saliba already sidelined and Mosquera in doubt.
