Rafael Leao faces same criticism at Galatasaray as at Milan
Four games in, Rafael Leao has no goal or assist for Galatasaray, and Filippo Galli says his Milan exit was natural as questions over intensity return.
«Rafael Leao had his time at Milan and it came to a natural conclusion,».
Galli said Leao was content to be talented and never became the leader he could have been.
Leao joined Milan from LOSC in 2019 and left seven years later. Galatasaray signed him for €38m plus add-ons, including a 20 per cent sell-on fee.
In four competitive appearances for the Turkish club he has no goal and no assist. He lost possession 21 times in the 4-0 defeat to Trabzonspor, and fans and pundits complained about a lack of intensity and aggression.
"Rafael Leao epitomised the lack of passion," said Mike Lahoud on CBS Sports Golazo.
Four games is a small sample, and Galatasaray's fixtures will show whether the Trabzonspor display was a one-off. If the pattern holds, the questions Milan asked about consistency may follow him for some time.
