FC Porto Mourns Death of SAD Board Member

Nuno Pereira Alves, a member of FC Porto's Remuneration Committee, died of a heart attack during Sunday's 3-1 win over Benfica.

Porto's win over Benfica on Sunday was overshadowed by the death of Nuno Pereira Alves, a board member of the club's Sociedade Anónima Desportiva, who suffered a heart attack during the match. Porto won the fixture 3-1.

Pereira Alves sat on the SAD's Remuneration Committee and held membership number 14,458. Porto's statement singled out the "loyalty, competence and discretion" with which he served the club.

Porto's board issued a note of condolence.

The result left Porto with a perfect record after seven league matches, level on that count with Barcelona.
