Klopp Bans Phones and Personal Barbers in Germany Squad

Jurgen Klopp has introduced four rules for the Germany squad, Bild reports: players must arrive for dinner together, phones are banned during massage and gym sessions, personal barbers may no longer visit camp, and families will see less of the team at tournaments.

The rules were drawn up by Klopp and his staff in August at a multi-day seminar. Klopp, 59, takes charge for the first time on Thursday, when Germany face the Netherlands in the Nations League. He was unveiled as national team coach in July, after two years out of the dugout.

The family rule follows the World Cup. German media reported that Nagelsmann's girlfriend, Lena Wurzenberger, was almost constantly there. Corriere dello Sport writes that players were allowed to spend the whole tournament with their families, and that some of the bigger names turned up to team dinners and massage sessions when it suited them.

Visits will be limited, with Euro 2028 the tournament in mind. Bild says he wants to balance rest against the concentration the squad needs.

If the rules hold, Klopp's first weeks may be judged as much on how the camp runs as on the Netherlands result.
