Leny Yoro gets first France call-up, replacing Konaté
Manchester United defender Leny Yoro, 20, joins Zinédine Zidane's France squad after Ibrahima Konaté pulled out with a minor knee sprain before Turkey match.
Leny Yoro has been called up to the France senior squad for the first time, taking the place of the injured Ibrahima Konaté.
Konaté picked up a minor knee sprain. Yoro was already at Clairefontaine with the France Under-21 squad of Gérald Baticle and had been due to travel to Iceland with them. The French federation announced the change a day before the match against Turkey.
Yoro is the seventh player to get his first call-up from Zidane, after goalkeepers Guillaume Restes of Toulouse and Jean Butez, right-back Andy Diouf, defender Jérémy Jacquet, Como midfielder Lucas da Cunha and forward Estéban Lepaul. Butez was added after Robin Risser withdrew.
Kylian Mbappé was not next to Zidane at Thursday's pre-match press conference, which prompted questions. Zidane brushed off the speculation.
Zidane said, according to Voetbal International, that he was not worried about Mbappé's absence.
