Jorge Jesus left Cristiano Ronaldo out of Portugal's starting eleven for Sunday's Nations League trip to Norway, and explained the call to Sport TV shortly before kick-off.

"Ronaldo played almost 70 minutes in the last match. I felt he could not start in two matches in a row. We want Cristiano to take part in all four matches, even if with a different amount of playing time, but it is important for us that he gets on the pitch," Jesus said.
