Joao Felix wants Europe return and Champions League football

Joao Felix has said he wants to go back to Europe and play in the Champions League again, without saying when. The Al-Nassr forward told AS the move could come at the end of this season or the next.

"I plan to return to Europe, although perhaps not right away," Felix said. "I don't know whether it will be at the end of this season or the next, but I want to return, play in the Champions League again and compete there again."

He also said he is settled in Saudi Arabia: "I'm very comfortable in Saudi Arabia. I'm happy and enjoying my football, but it's true that I'm also thinking about returning." Asked about Barcelona, where he spent the 2023/24 season on loan, he said: "Playing for Barcelona made me very happy. It was a childhood dream for me, my father and my brother. It was an honour."

Felix, 26, joined Al-Nassr from Chelsea in July 2025 on a contract that runs to 30 June 2027. He scored 26 goals in 47 matches last season, and has four goals and three assists so far this season.

His form has carried over to Portugal. He scored the winner against Wales in Jorge Jesus's first game in charge, and he opened the scoring in the 17th minute against Norway in the Nations League. Erling Haaland levelled on 51 minutes, and Goncalo Ramos got the winner three minutes later in a 2-1 Portugal win.

Felix gave no timetable, and the end of next season would coincide with the end of his Al-Nassr contract. If that is the route he takes, a European club could sign him as a free agent rather than pay a fee.
