Court bans 13 Spartak Moscow fans over stadium grenade
A Moscow court fined and banned 13 Spartak supporters for six months to a year after they brought an airsoft grenade into the Lukoil Arena.
The Tushino District Court in Moscow has banned 13 Spartak Moscow supporters from attending sporting events for periods ranging from six months to a year, after they took an airsoft grenade into the Lukoil Arena.
"The Tushino District Court of the city of Moscow has imposed administrative penalties on 13 football fans under Part 1 of Article 20.31 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation for breaching spectator conduct rules at official sporting competitions. The offenders have been fined 3,000 roubles each and banned from attending official sporting events for a period of six months to one year," the court's press service said, as quoted by TASS.
The court found that the fans, heavily intoxicated and with their faces covered by black masks, brought the airsoft grenade into the ground on 5 and 9 August. Spartak beat Orenburg 5-1 at home on 5 August in the group stage of the Russian Cup, then lost 1-2 to Krasnodar on 9 August in round three of the Russian Premier League, with Juan Carcedo's side in charge for both fixtures.
It is the second such ruling this month involving fans at Moscow grounds. The Savyolovsky District Court previously fined three women 10,000 roubles each and barred them from official sporting events for a year over their part in a brawl at the CSKA Moscow-Akron Cup tie.
