Viktor Gyokeres Set to Start for Sweden Despite Injury Scare

Viktor Gyokeres left the Strawberry Arena with blood on both socks after Sweden's 3-1 win over Poland on Monday, but Graham Potter confirmed the striker will be fit for the rest of the international break.
, guiding home a Patrik Walemark cross on the volley to seal the win after Yasin Ayari had put Sweden back ahead in the 63rd. It was his second goal in two games, following the winner against Romania last week. Sweden finished the night top of their Nations League group, two points clear of Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Asked by Swedish outlet Sportbladet whether he had been stamped on during the match, Gyokeres was matter-of-fact about the marks on his legs.
He played on until the 88th minute despite the knock. Potter said afterwards that resting his main striker was never really an option.
The Sweden manager praised Gyokeres' work at both ends, saying he was "outstanding" in the second half and pointed to his aerial defending as much as his finishing.
With Alexander Isak sent home from the squad through injury, Gyokeres is now Sweden's first-choice striker for the remaining fixtures, away to Bosnia & Herzegovina on Friday and to Romania three days later.,,..
