About the player
Anthony Bedoya Caicedo built his early career at home in Guayaquil, coming through the ranks at Toreros F.C. between 2008 and 2016, before Independiente del Valle picked him up on loan in 2013 for a two-year spell that took him away from his boyhood club.
Barcelona S.C. signed him in 2017, but the move produced more travel than first-team football: Deportivo Cuenca and S.D. Aucas both took him on loan while he was on the books at the Guayaquil giants, keeping him away from the Barcelona shirt for the bulk of that stay. It was on those loan spells and in later seasons that he picked up experience in continental competition, appearing in both the Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores.
The following years turned into a tour of Ecuadorian football and beyond. Azuriz F.C. and Guayaquil City both had him in 2021, Mushuc Runa followed in 2022, and 2023 split between 9 de Octubre and a spell in Colombia with Unión Magdalena. El Nacional gave him a longer run between 2024 and 2025 before his move to Delfín SC.
He has not been called up to the Ecuador national team.
