About the player
Franco Ayunta made his professional debut for Club Atlético Temperley on 3 December 2019, aged 17, in a defeat to Ferro Carril Oeste, and spent the following years working his way through the Argentine second tier with the club. He stayed on the books at Temperley for the best part of six years, and in January 2024 went out on loan to Club Atlético San Telmo for the first half of that season.
His move to Ecuador brought the sharpest turn of his career so far. Delfín SC took him on loan with an option to buy in January 2026, and the forward wasted no time making an impression: on his debut, on 22 February 2026 against Deportivo Cuenca, he converted a penalty. According to livefutbol.com, he had gone on to reach 25 appearances and seven goals for Delfín by the middle of 2026, becoming a regular presence in the side's attack after only a few months in the country.
Ayunta's development had already earned him a look at international level in 2022, when he featured once for Argentina's under-20 side, though without scoring. His grounding, though, was built almost entirely in the Argentine lower divisions with Temperley, where his output — a return of around ten goals across roughly seventy league matches — reflected a player learning his trade rather than one bursting onto the scene. The loan spell at San Telmo added another 14 appearances and two goals to that account.
Born in Glew, in Buenos Aires province, Ayunta plays as a forward and shoots with his right foot. His career has followed a gradual arc: years of first-team football in Argentina's second and third tiers, a brief taste of the national under-20 setup, and now a fresh start in Ecuadorian football with Delfín, where his early scoring form has given the club reason to negotiate a permanent transfer.
