Alma Forstén's most recent move came on 8 May 2026, when she left Helsingin Palloseura for HJK.
Her senior career began at Jyväskylän Pallokerho (JyPK), where she made her Naisten Liiga debut in May 2018. She stayed there through the 2024 season, and the years were not smooth for the club: JyPK dropped into the second-tier Naisten Ykkönen for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Forstén was still there, and her form in that division stood out. In August 2023 she scored seven goals in five matches and was named the Ykkönen's Player of the Month.
She came through Finland's youth national teams as well. She was in the Finland U17 squad that finished third at the 2018 UEFA Women's U17 Championship, although she did not play in the tournament. In 2019 she won one cap for the Finland U18 side.
Forstén was born in Jyväskylä, the city of the club where she started, and she spent the first seven years of her senior career there before moving to Helsinki.
