Alberto Sebastián Herrera Rodríguez López

When Mazatlán FC was dissolved ahead of the 2026 season, Alberto Sebastián Herrera Rodríguez returned to Puebla.

Herrera came through Pachuca's youth system, progressing through the under-17, under-20 and under-23 sides between 2016 and 2020, before Puebla signed him that July. He started out with the reserve team, Puebla B, and made his first-team debut on 20 October 2021 in a 2-0 win over Mazatlán — the same club he would later join, and later score against. His first senior goal came on 2 March 2022, against Juárez.

Across four seasons as a regular in Puebla's first team, Herrera made close to fifty appearances, contributing a handful of goals and two assists, before leaving as a free agent in the summer of 2025.

At international level, Herrera earned his only senior cap for Mexico on 31 May 2024, in a friendly against Bolivia. He had previously represented the under-23 side, making five appearances in 2023, including the Toulon Tournament. His earliest recognition came at youth level, when Puebla's under-20 side finished runners-up in the Copa MX U20 during the 2020/21 season.
