Ahmed Yasin Ghani Mousa

Baghdad shaped the early story before Sweden did. Ahmed Yasin came through Örebro-based side BK Forward as a teenager, breaking into the first team and winning a domestic futsal cup with the club before Örebro SK signed him into their senior squad.

His first spell at Örebro SK, from 2011 to 2015, produced his best-remembered moment: the club's goal of the season for 2013, scored in a campaign that also brought relegation to Superettan and an immediate return to the top flight. That form carried him to a place in the Superettan team of the year and eventually to a transfer to AGF Aarhus in Denmark.

The move that raised his profile most was the one that followed, from AGF to AIK, where he helped the Stockholm club to a runners-up finish in Allsvenskan in 2016 and was named the league's player of the month the following August. Spells at BK Häcken, on loan and then permanently, added further goals, while stints in Qatar with Muaither and Al-Khor, and later in Turkey with Denizlispor, took his career outside Scandinavia.

A move to Saudi Arabia's Al-Kholood Club between 2023 and 2024 brought some of his most productive football, with eleven goals in fifty-two appearances helping the club win promotion to the Pro League. He returned to Örebro SK for a second and then third spell, interspersed with a season at Zakho SC in Iraq, before rejoining Örebro again in 2025 on a contract running to the end of 2026. In March 2026 he completed his recovery from injury.

For Iraq, he has earned over fifty caps and six goals, featuring at the 2015 Asian Cup, where the team finished fourth and he scored against both Palestine and Iran, as well as at the 2012 Arab Cup, where Iraq took bronze. In 2012, Kooora named him Iraq's best professional player, and he was shortlisted the following season for Al Jazeera's Arab Footballer of the Year award.
