About the player
A downward header gave Basel a 1-0 win over Young Boys on 6 October 2024.
His route into senior football ran through Croatian academies — Hajduk Split, Dinamo Zagreb and RNK Split — before he settled at Osijek, first with the reserve side, where he made 57 appearances, and then in the first team from 2021, adding 32 games and a goal.
The move to Basel in 2023 brought silverware: the club won the Swiss Super League and the Swiss Cup in the 2024/25 season. A thigh injury interrupted his season in March 2025 and kept him out for several weeks.
In January 2026, Barišić moved to SC Braga on a loan that includes a mandatory-purchase clause worth €3.5 million, and he has been part of the first-team squad since.
He debuted for Bosnia and Herzegovina on 17 June 2023, against Portugal, and had earned 15 caps without scoring by October 2025. Earlier in his career he represented the country at youth level, with seven appearances for the under-19 side and nine for the under-21s, including one goal.
