About the player
Alex Plat came up through FC Volendam's own academy after starting out at RKAV Volendam.
What stands out most is the longevity of that first spell in Volendam's colours: two contract extensions, in March and October 2019, kept him at the club until 2022, and he clocked over a hundred appearances in the first team, including 28 in the 2021/22 season alone. He then left as a free agent, spending a season at NAC Breda and another at Telstar, before returning to FC Volendam in June 2024 on a three-year deal, again arriving without a transfer fee.
Back at the club, Alex Plat has become a regular fixture, wearing the number 6 shirt. He was part of the Volendam squad that went through the promotion play-offs in 2024/25, beating Willem II along the way.
