About the player
There is a goal from twenty years ago that nobody in Volendam has to be reminded of, but Henk Veerman's own story with the club started later and in two separate spells.
A short move to FC Utrecht in January 2022 did not work out in front of goal — just one strike in eight league appearances before the contract ran out that summer.
What followed was the clearest sign of where Veerman belongs. He went back to FC Volendam on a three-year deal, and in the 2022/23 season became one of the team's central figures, finishing with 34 goals in 90 matches across his time there. A loan spell at ADO Den Haag in 2023/24 kept his scoring rate up, with 23 goals in 38 Eerste Divisie appearances, before he returned once more to the club where his career began.
At 201cm, he offers a physical presence up front that has followed him through the Netherlands, Germany and back again, and his numbers at Volendam in particular stand out as the high point of a career built on a return to home ground.
