Andrés Guillermo Gudiño Portillo

Andrés Gudiño made his first-team debut for Cruz Azul against Mazatlán on 26 July 2021, arriving there after a run through the club's loan system that had taken him to Cruz Azul Hidalgo and later to Tepatitlán. Before any of that, he had come through Venados, the club in his native Yucatán, where he started out as a teenager.

The loan spell at Tepatitlán, in 2022, gave him his clearest individual moment: he was named best goalkeeper of the opening round in the Liga de Expansión MX, a spell that put his name forward on merit rather than reputation.

His biggest medal, though, came without him kicking a ball in the deciding matches. Gudiño was part of the Cruz Azul squad that won the Guardianes 2021 Liga MX title, but as the team's third-choice goalkeeper he did not feature in the finals. He later added a second major honour, lifting the CONCACAF Champions Cup with Cruz Azul in 2025.

Gudiño continues his career at Cruz Azul, the club where his development through the loan circuit eventually paid off with a place in the first team.
