About the player
The turning point in Andrés Sánchez 's career came away from Pachuca, the club that raised him. Signed into the academy at fifteen, he spent six years there, and by 2018 the path forward ran through loans rather than promotion. Tepatitlán, back home in Mexico's second tier, gave him the minutes that eventually mattered.
By 2021 Sánchez had moved on from Pachuca altogether, joining Atlético San Luis with no guarantee of a starting role. It took two more seasons before he claimed one. From 2023–24 onward he has been the club's first-choice goalkeeper, a status confirmed by the workload since: 35 league appearances the following season, 34 the one after that, and 25 so far in the current campaign.
