About the player
The playing time came elsewhere. In 2023/24 Rijeka sent him on loan to HŠK Posušje in Bosnia and Herzegovina; he returned in the summer of 2024. In January 2025 he went out again, this time to NK Opatija.
That was the pattern until the summer of 2025, when the coaching staff's plans no longer included him. Babić and Rijeka agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, which left the midfielder a free agent at 20.
He did not wait long. On 26 July 2025 he signed a two-year deal with FK Velež Mostar. A year later the move was further afield: in August 2026 he joined Académico Viseu in Portugal.
At youth international level he has six caps for Croatia's under-19 side and one for the under-18s.
