Aníbal Andrés Leguizamón Espínola

Aníbal Leguizamón built his career in the lower divisions of Argentine football before finding his footing abroad. He started out at Sportivo Barracas, then moved through Argentino de Quilmes and Defensores de Belgrano, spending those early years in the kind of competitions that rarely draw attention beyond the local press. The turning point came at Arsenal de Sarandí, where he was part of the squad that won the Primera B Nacional in the 2018–19 season.

In July 2019 he joined Emelec on loan, making 12 appearances before the Ecuadorian club exercised the option to sign him permanently the following June. Over the years that followed he made 113 appearances and scored five goals, featuring in the Copa Libertadores in 2019 and 2022 and in the Copa Sudamericana in 2020 and 2021.

In August 2024 he returned home, signing for Belgrano and going on to play 24 matches for the club. That stint proved short: in February 2026 he moved back to Emelec as a free agent.

Born in Bernal Oeste, Argentina, Leguizamón has also been mentioned in connection with a possible switch of national allegiance to Paraguay, reflecting his father's Paraguayan background, though he has not featured for that or any senior national team.
