About the player
Anton Janos Jönsson Salétros came through Sandsbro AIK and Enskede IK before joining AIK's youth setup, and he made the breakthrough to the first team at the end of August 2013. He made 77 appearances for the club across two spells.
A loan to Ujpest in Hungary in 2017 brought a Hungarian Cup winner's medal, and the following year he committed to a four-year deal at Rostov in Russia, making his debut against CSKA Moscow in August 2018. Loans back to AIK and then to Sarpsborg 08 in Norway followed before Sarpsborg made the transfer permanent in October 2020.
By the middle of that year he was back at AIK, playing 69 games and scoring 6 goals in a second spell that ran into 2025, before a move to Chicago Fire in November 2025 brought him to Major League Soccer.
Jönsson Salétros has Swedish and Hungarian family roots but has represented Sweden throughout his career, including bronze medals with the under-17s at both the 2013 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and the 2013 European Championship in Slovakia.
