K. Applewhite

Christopher Applewhite has never known a senior career outside Nashville. He joined the club's academy in September 2022, aged 15, and by 2024 had been named the academy's Player of the Year. That form earned him a loan spell at feeder side Huntsville City FC in MLS Next Pro, where he made 20 appearances in 2024 and was picked for the MLS NEXT All-Star Game as well as the MLS NEXT All-Star Team that year.

Nashville signed him as a Homegrown Player in January 2025, and he made his mark almost immediately: he became the youngest player in the club's history to appear in an MLS match, aged 17 years, seven months and 27 days. He has continued to feature for Huntsville alongside his senior appearances, splitting time between MLS Next Pro and MLS itself, and has also played in the US Open Cup and Leagues Cup for Nashville. He was part of the squad that won the 2025 US Open Cup.

His progress has not gone unnoticed at international level. Applewhite has been capped by United States youth sides at both U-19, since October 2025, and U-20 level. In August 2026 he featured for the U-20s at the CONCACAF Championship, playing against Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Cuba. He had earlier been named a training player with the squad for the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.

A centre back by trade, Applewhite's rise has tracked the arc of Nashville's own academy system: local product, loan spell for minutes, first-team breakthrough, then a first senior trophy before his twentieth birthday.
