Royal Antwerp paid around €2 million to bring him from NK Kustošija in July 2026, and handed him a four-year contract.
Mejía left Ecuador in the spring of 2025, joining Kustošija in Croatia. He arrived into the club's under-19 side and was promoted to the senior squad from there. Across the 2025/26 season he made 27 senior appearances, 20 of them starts.
Before Europe there were two Ecuadorian clubs. He started out in the youth ranks at Guayaquil City, in the city where he was born, and later moved into the academy at Independiente del Valle.
He plays on the right wing. He has not been capped by the senior Ecuador national team.
