About the player
César Pérez Maldonado came through Deportes Magallanes' academy, where he stayed until 2022 and made 42 appearances, scoring four goals. A free transfer took him to Unión La Calera, where two seasons yielded 59 appearances and seven goals.
His move to Defensa y Justicia in July 2024 followed his participation at the 2024 Copa América. He has since made 39 appearances for the Argentine club and scored three goals, including an equaliser away to Independiente Rivadavia in May 2025.
He made his senior debut for Chile on 21 November 2023, coming off in the 70th minute of a World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.
