About the player
Christopher Cupps signed his first professional contract with Chicago Fire on 18 February 2025. He has since made six MLS appearances, starting three of them.
His clearest achievement so far has come with the United States rather than his club. Cupps was capped once for the US under-16s in 2024 before establishing himself at under-17 level, where he made eleven appearances across 2024 and 2025. He wore the captain's armband during the knockout stage of the 2025 Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, a role that marked him out among his age group on the biggest stage available to it. He has also been called into the under-19 setup as the United States began qualifying for the 2027 Under-20 World Cup.
On 24 August 2026, Chicago Fire sent Cupps out on loan for the remainder of the season to Greenock Morton in Scotland, with the move including a unilateral recall option.
