About the player
Yang Cong made the step up to Qingdao Hainiu's first team in February 2025, having come through the club's youth ranks with the U20 side. The forward has since become a regular feature off the bench, with his contribution best measured in the moments he has found the net.
Both of his goals this season arrived late in matches. He struck in the 85th minute to snatch a 1-1 draw against Chengdu Rongcheng, and found the target again in the 80th minute in a match against Shenzhen Pengcheng — a habit of making an impact in the closing stages that has become his early calling card at senior level.
Yang Cong has signed a contract running to the end of 2027, giving Qingdao Hainiu time to build around a player they promoted from within rather than brought in from outside.
