About the player
David Ankeye arrived at the Italian club on 31 January 2024 from Sheriff, on a contract running to 2027/2028, and in Serie A he has played 10–11 matches without a goal, plus one in the Coppa Italia.
Ankeye came out of the Sido's FC academy in Nigeria and moved to Hammarby in January 2021, appearing for the Swedish club and its feeder side Hammarby Talang — ten matches, no goals. By July he was back in Nigeria with Jimmy Football Academy.
At ES Hammam Sousse, joined in October 2022, he scored six or seven times in 15 matches. He earned a loan to Sheriff in the summer of 2023, with an option to buy the Moldovan club activated in December for roughly €300,000.
An injury at the start of 2024/25 kept him out of the opening fixtures and delayed his league debut until September 2024.
On 4 July 2026 he signed a three-year deal with Železničar Pančevo in Serbia, the fee reported at €500,000. He has played one to three matches for the club so far.
