About the player
David Philipp came through Werder Bremen's academy, joining in 2014 and scoring 52 goals for the club's U19 side between 2017 and 2019 before making his senior debut with Werder Bremen II in the Regionalliga Nord. A loan spell at ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie followed, before he moved on a free transfer to FC Viktoria Köln in 2021.
It was at Viktoria Köln that Philipp had his standout moment. On 12 August 2023, facing his former club Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal, he scored twice as Viktoria Köln won 3–2. He also won the Mittelrheinpokal twice with the club, in 2022 and 2023.
In May 2024, Philipp signed a two-year contract with TSV 1860 München on a free transfer. Across two seasons at the club he made 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and adding 6 assists as a left-footed midfielder. He left for SSV Jahn Regensburg in May 2026.
At international level, Philipp represented Germany at youth level, earning 6 caps and scoring 2 goals for the U18 side between 2017 and 2018, followed by 3 caps for the U19s in 2018.
