Dixon Arroyo

Dixon Arroyo made his name where his career began, at Deportivo Quito, and left it with the club's championship medal from 2011 still attached to his name. The following year the Ecuadorian under-20 side he was part of took bronze at the South American youth championship, an early sign of his potential.

What followed was a steady climb through Ecuadorian football rather than a single defining leap: spells at LDU de Loja and Independiente del Valle preceded a long stay at C.S. Emelec, where he settled from 2018 to 2023. Each move came as a free agent, a pattern that continued when he left South America altogether in 2023 to join Inter Miami CF.

That switch put him alongside some of the highest-profile names in American soccer, and it paid off quickly: Arroyo won the Leagues Cup with Inter Miami in 2023. His time in Florida was brief, and by January 2024 he had returned home, joining Barcelona S.C. as a free agent.

On the international stage, Arroyo's involvement with Ecuador's senior team has been limited but not without moments of note. He earned his first cap on 29 March 2021 in a 2-1 win over Bolivia, and added a second appearance in June 2022 against Nigeria, a 1-0 victory. He was named in Ecuador's squad for the 2021 Copa América, though he did not take the field during the tournament.

After two years at Barcelona S.C., Arroyo moved on again in March 2026, signing for Guayaquil City on a free transfer, a return, in effect, to football in his home city.
