About the player
Essiën Bassey spent his early years in the AZSV academy before moving to De Graafschap's youth setup in 2018.
Bassey made his debut for PSV in the Johan Cruyff Shield against AZ, coming on for eight minutes, and was later named among the substitutes for an Eredivisie fixture against Fortuna Sittard, though he did not take the field on that occasion. He has not featured in the league for PSV's first team.
At international level, he represented the Netherlands at under-16 level, making four appearances after his debut in November 2021, but has not since been called up at under-17 or higher.
