Eldin Džogović

Eldin Džogović grew up in the Trier area before Magdeburg brought him into their academy in 2019, at 16, after spells at Union Mertert-Wasserbillig and SV Eintracht Trier 05. He worked his way through the club's youth sides, making 86 appearances and scoring 15 goals for Magdeburg II in the Regionalliga Nordost, before being promoted to the first team in 2023.

His senior debut for the club came earlier than that promotion suggests: he played his first game for Magdeburg in a friendly against Qatar in March 2021, though his official first-team registration is dated January 2022. Since then he has made nine appearances for the senior side. His development was recognised in April 2024, when Magdeburg extended his contract; sporting director Otmar Schork praised the progress he had made. He was part of the squad that won the 3. Liga title in the 2021/2022 season.

His run of appearances was interrupted in December 2025, when he suffered a serious knee injury during a match against Hallescher FC. The incident drew attention because the foul that caused it was only punished with a yellow card.

Džogović represents Luxembourg at international level, having made his senior debut for the national team on the same day as his club bow, in March 2021. He has since earned 13 caps without scoring, featuring in World Cup 2026 qualifiers, the UEFA Nations League and EURO 2024 qualifying. He came through Luxembourg's youth setup as well, with appearances at U17, U19 and U21 level. Born in Luxembourg City, he is of Bosnian descent.
