About the player
Elias Kristoffersen Hagen arrived at Aalesund on loan for the 2026 season. He came through Grorud before Bodø/Glimt signed him in 2020, and his timing there proved good: Bodø/Glimt won the Eliteserien title in both 2020 and 2021 while he was on the books, though those triumphs belonged to the team as a whole rather than to him individually.
His path then took a turn few of his Norwegian peers follow. In January 2023 he left for Sweden, joining IFK Göteborg, before returning home the same year in a switch to Vålerenga on 31 July 2023 for a fee of 7.2 million Swedish kronor. That move paid off domestically: Vålerenga were crowned OBOS-ligaen champions in 2024 with Hagen in the squad.
At international level, Hagen has represented Norway across the age groups rather than at senior level, with three caps for the under-18s in 2018, eight for the under-19s in 2019 and a single appearance for the under-21s in 2022. He has yet to be capped by the senior national team.
Now on loan at Aalesund, Hagen brings that domestic and Swedish experience into a new dressing room.
