About the player
Emilio Giaccone's path into the professional game started with a trial his father arranged for him in Santa Fe. He worked his way through every level of Unión's academy after that.
He spent time with Unión's reserve side, helping the team reach the semi-final of the reserve championship in 2024. His first-team contract was signed in December 2024, and he was handed his senior debut, coming off the bench against Defensa y Justicia in a match that finished goalless. Appearances with the first team since then have been limited.
National recognition followed in March 2025, when Diego Placente called him into Argentina's Under-20 squad as part of the build-up to that year's Under-20 World Cup in Chile. The group trained together for several days ahead of the tournament.
