About the player
By October 2024, Evgeni Latyshonok kept a clean sheet in 72.7 per cent of his matches. He had joined Zenit Saint Petersburg only that summer.
He came up through the reserve sides of Krasnodar, Krasnodar-2 and Krasnodar-3, without breaking into the first team. In July 2019 he moved to Baltika Kaliningrad on a free transfer and stayed five years. He played 111 league games and 16 cup games there. Baltika finished second in the First League in 2022/23 and won promotion to the Russian Premier League. He was also included in the list of the 33 best players of the Russian championship for 2023/24, and again for 2024/25.
Zenit signed him on 14 June 2024 for €300,000 on a contract of four years with an option for a fifth. Less than three months later he made his debut for Russia, in a 3-0 friendly win over Vietnam on 5 September. He had won two caps by March 2025. His only earlier appearance for the country was for the under-16s in 2014.
At Zenit he played 31 league matches and 10 in the cup. The club won the Russian Super Cup in 2024 and 2026, and the league title in 2025/26. He was also a Russian Cup finalist in 2023/24.
The next move came on 29 July 2026. Pari Nizhniy Novgorod paid 100 million rubles for him and loaned him straight back to Baltika for the 2026/27 season.
