About the player
Sjøvold grew up playing for Sjetne IL before moving through SK Trygg/Lade and into Rosenborg's youth ranks. Rather than staying on at Rosenborg, he chose to build his senior career at Tiller IL, where he spent the 2021 season in the 3. divisjon, making 14 appearances without scoring. That spell was enough to earn him a free transfer to Bodø/Glimt in January 2022, where he signed a contract that has since been extended to December 2028.
His first two seasons at Bodø/Glimt were limited, with four league appearances in 2022 and twenty in 2023 as he adapted to a higher level. His role grew from there: he made 28 appearances in 2024, scoring his first goal for the club, then took a regular place in 2025 with 30 appearances and four goals. He has continued that involvement into the 2026 season.
Sjøvold has represented Norway at youth level, with four caps for the U20 side and, since making his debut against San Marino in September 2023, seven caps for the U21s. In August 2024 he received his first call-up to the senior national team squad for matches against Kazakhstan and Austria, though he withdrew because of an ankle injury.
