About the player
He has since worked his way through every Dutch youth international age group, from the under-16s to the under-19s.
In 2024/25, Verhulst won the Dutch Under-19 Divisie 1 title with PSV and got off the mark in the UEFA Youth League. That form has carried into the following campaign, where his scoring rate at youth level has picked up: two goals in the Youth League already, including one in a 6-2 win over Union Saint-Gilloise on 16 September 2025. He has also been drafted into training sessions with PSV's Under-19 squad.
That step arrived on 17 October 2025, when Verhulst made his professional debut for Jong PSV in the Eerste Divisie against De Graafschap. He came off the bench in the 78th minute of a game that finished 1-1 and picked up a yellow card on his first appearance. Since then he has continued to feature for the reserves, and PSV rewarded the progress by extending his contract by two years in October 2025.
