About the player
Hu Mingfei has built his career on free transfers. Every move he has made — from Shanghai Shenxin to Suzhou Dongwu, from Suzhou Dongwu to Guangxi Pingguo, and on to Nantong Zhiyun — has come without a fee changing hands.
His longest spell of stability came at Suzhou Dongwu, where he spent four seasons and made 126 appearances, scoring nine goals along the way. He had made his name earlier at Shanghai Shenxin, where he made his Chinese Super League debut in April 2015 after joining the club on trial the previous year, going on to make 36 appearances there.
Before all of that, Hu started out with Jiangsu Youth, making 19 appearances in China League Two as he worked his way into professional football. His single season at Guangxi Pingguo in 2024 also brought goals, with two strikes in 20 matches, before he moved on again in February 2025, this time to Nantong Zhiyun.
A right-footed centre-back, Hu has not been capped at international level for China, and his career has been built instead on steady club service rather than individual honours.
