Xu Hui

Xu Hui's route to Chinese professional football began on the other side of the border. Born in South Korea to a Chinese father from Shanghai and a South Korean mother, he came through the FC Seoul youth academy before continuing his development at Incheon National University, where he played from 2018 to 2021. He never made a senior appearance for the side.

The defender's move to China came with a significant decision: in 2023, he renounced his South Korean passport to naturalise as a Chinese citizen, opening the way to a senior career in the country of his father's birth. He started that career with Shanghai Jiading Huilong in China League Two, making a single appearance, before joining Ningbo Professional Football Club the same year. February 2024 brought two moves in quick succession — first to Jiangxi Dingnan United, then to Heilongjiang Ice City in China League One, where he made 14 appearances.

Xu Hui joined Nantong Zhiyun in February 2025, racking up 26 appearances for the club. He has yet to add full international recognition to his under-23 South Korean caps, with no appearances for China's senior national team to his name so far.
