Ilya Samoshnikov

Rubin Kazan know Ilya Samoshnikov well: he arrived from Torpedo in January 2020 for a fee of around €50,000, made himself a regular starter, and piled up more than 180 professional appearances across his time at the club. In July 2026 he came back on a season-long loan from Spartak Moscow for the 2026/2027 campaign, with no option or obligation to buy attached.

The route there was long. He joined the academy at Prialit Reutov, his home-town club, at the age of seven and stayed until 2014, then made his senior debut for them in amateur football in 2015. A brief spell at Veles Moscow in 2017 was followed by Ararat Moscow, where he made his professional debut in the PFL that year. He moved to Shinnik Yaroslavl on a free transfer in August 2018 and made his FNL debut the same month, then signed for Torpedo Moscow in June 2019 and left in December via a clause in his contract.

His first stint at Rubin ended in June 2023, when he joined Lokomotiv Moscow as a free agent on a three-year deal. In 2024 he was named Best Player of the Match in a game against Spartak Moscow; on 19 August 2025 he signed for Spartak, who paid roughly €3.7 million (350 million roubles). He won the Russian Cup with them in the 2025–26 season.

He was included in Russia's preliminary 30-man squad for UEFA Euro 2020 but did not survive the final cut. His senior debut came on 1 September 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Croatia. As of September 2025 he had five caps and one goal, scored in a friendly against Syria on 19 November 2024.
