Indiana Vassilev was signed by Aston Villa young, and across three seasons the club sent him out three times over — to Burton Albion, to Cheltenham Town, then across the Atlantic on loan to Inter Miami.
Villa gave him four first-team appearances in total. St. He was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday in both 2023 and 2025, and made the Team of the Week back in 2022.
Vassilev holds dual US and Bulgarian citizenship, and Bulgaria asked twice — first for the under-21s, then for the senior side — and both times he turned them down to focus on his club career. The United States call finally came in January 2025, and he made his debut against Venezuela, the first of two caps to date.
