About the player
Nathan Harriel signed with Philadelphia Union as a Homegrown Player on 17 July 2020, and his professional contract took effect on 1 January 2021. Before that step up, he had already spent a season with the reserve side while still an amateur, playing in the USL Championship in 2019.
Once his contract began, Harriel split his early appearances between the first team and Bethlehem Steel FC, the club's affiliate side now known as Philadelphia Union II. He played 13 matches there as a professional in 2020, then five more in MLS Next Pro in 2022. He has featured for Philadelphia Union's first team in MLS since 2021. In 2025, he returned to Bethlehem Steel FC on loan and made one appearance there.
Harriel's involvement with the United States national team has been limited so far but not without a highlight. According to 11v11.com, he played two friendlies for the US in June 2025, against Turkey and Switzerland. Three months later, on 9 September 2025, he scored in a friendly against Japan — his only goal at international level to date, from two caps.
