Joffre Andrés Escobar Moyano

Since leaving Deportivo Cuenca's academy system, he has worn the shirts of clubs in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Bolivia.

The pattern was set early. After a scoreless first taste of senior football at Deportivo Cuenca under Guillermo Rivarola, he was loaned out to Gualaceo S.C., where the goals finally came: 24 in 51 appearances over two seasons. That return persuaded Fuerza Amarilla to sign him for a fee, and he repaid it with 10 goals in 13 matches.

América de Quito took him on a four-year deal in 2019, but it was a loan spell that followed, at Peru's Universidad San Martín, that produced his best form: 12 goals in 16 games. Chile came next, with two seasons at Huachipato, before a return to Ecuador and a loan to Independiente del Valle delivered the one medal of note in his career — the Ecuadorian league title in 2021.

Further loan spells took him back to Universidad San Martín and on to Sporting Cristal in Peru, then to Deportivo Pasto in Colombia. Spells at Universidad Católica and Macará in Ecuador passed without a goal. A move to Alianza Universidad in 2025 brought a revival of sorts, seven goals in 23 appearances, before he crossed into Central American football with Guatemala's Xelajú.

Escobar remains a forward defined less by a single moment than by the sheer range of leagues he has tried to make his mark in.
